Rye Oak Primary School – Washroom Refurbishment

Specialising in educating pupils who have special educational needs and or disabilities, Rye Oak school is located in Nunhead, London. The washrooms were in dire need of a complete refurbishment and upgrade. Not only were they old and outdated, but they were also difficult to clean, and maintenance was requiring a significant upkeep expense.

The works were carried out over a period of 35 weeks, due to strategic project planning during term time and holiday periods. The refurbishment involved 9 Washroom areas, including wall hung WC pans, Corian Washtroughs, solid grade laminate cubicles with a patterned design door from our Velocity range. All colours chosen by the client were well balanced and created a child friendly atmosphere.

The materials and products chosen by Interfix will give longevity and provide ease of cleaning and maintenance going forwards. The Washtroughs minimise the amount of water that gets on the floor whilst pupils are washing their hands as most of the water is captured in the unique Washtrough design with the linear slot drainage system.

The tight project timeline did not detract from Interfix’s ability to provide exactly what was required – a superb set of toilets in an area that is bright, attractive, and safe, as well as being durable enough to withstand the long-term rigours of a busy school environment.
