Interfix’s design and installation expertise in bespoke washroom delivery was put to creative use at a south London nursery.

At Allfarthing School in Wandsworth, the toilet facilities for its younger year groups had started to display signs of wear and tear, and therefore in need of refurbishment. As well as upgrading facilities to create a smart and fresh appearance, the washroom’s functionality had to be improved for the small children using it. This was achieved by introducing appliances which were lower in height.

Solid-grade laminate velocity cubicles were installed with low doors – which feature child art laminate – and divisions to allow easy entry and exit. To maximise storage space and prevent items such as clothing and bags littering the area, a solid-grade laminate duct panel system installed above the cubicles was fitted with storage units and cupboard fronts to match the panels.

Junior-height WC pans were also provided as part of a full sanitaryware package. To optimise the all-year-round safety of children, the washroom was fitted with anti-slip vinyl flooring.

Having designed an innovative washroom perfectly-suited to the needs of pre-school children, the challenge for Interfix’s installation team was to ensure the system was in position and functional in readiness for the new school term. It meant refurbishment work was carried out during the four-week summer break.

It was completed to the client’s full satisfaction, with children having full use of a superbly-modern, hygienic and comfortable washroom environment upon their return to school.
