Washrooms at Meath School

Interfix supplied a superior design and fit-out, resulting in a school being supplied with safer, smart, spacious washroom facilities.

Student toilets at St Michael’s Prep School in Sevenoaks, Kent were deemed ‘out of date’ and in need of full refurbishment. Any makeover not only had to include a complete overhaul of fixtures and fittings, the 67m2 area needed reconfiguring to create space for students to access a water fountain and refill their bottles. With more than 30 years’ experience in washroom design and refurbishment, Interfix was more than up to the challenge.

With Interfix specifying all products and quantities as well as carrying out their installation, the school washroom’s refurbishment needed to be completed within a four-week period that included the half-term holidays. Following a full strip-out of the toilets that included minor building works, plastering and decoration, the area’s transformation into a plush, more welcoming environment began. Non-slip vinyl flooring was installed, along with a suspended ceiling and lighting. New, hard-wearing, vandal-proof cubicles were also added, plus leak-resistant Corian washtroughs, and WC and urinal ducting. To enhance the washroom’s welcoming aspect, multi-coloured doors and cut panels were supplied to add a brighter, modern feel.

Despite works partly being carried out during term time, Interfix was able to complete the washroom’s full refurbishment, to the school’s complete satisfaction. Students are now able to partake of facilities which excel in comfort and style, with the fountain allowing them to rehydrate regularly and sustainably using their own receptacles.
