Chartham Parish Council – Washroom Refurbishment

Chartham Parish Council contacted Interfix when their existing toilets were in a poor state of repair, mostly due to high footfall and vandalism. Our team got to work on a vandal resistant design and project plan.

Before installation went ahead, all existing fittings and fixtures were stripped out. Hygienic wall cladding, vandal resistant sanitaryware, new floor tiling and Wall Cladding took place. Along with remodelling of services, installation of external aluminium window louvres and vents and access ramp including security timed access door control. The toilets were upgraded with vandal resistant fitting throughout, not just to address the vandalism issue – a cost effective option rather than needing to replace WC seats. The wall cladding will provide ease of cleaning and maintenance for the staff, and hand wash/dryer units and PIR controlled lighting provide a safe environment for public users. Window louvres were replaced to give effective ventilations whilst obscuring vision into the toilets.

There were also issues with the existing drainage, our team deployed a special camera survey and remedial repairs. The roof also had a lot of lichen which had to be removed along with rainwater pipe replacements in cast iron to bring the building back to its former glory.

Overall a great project and we hope the public enjoy using the new washrooms!
